New Hampshire

    • NAMI NH provides education, support, and advocacy for persons with mental illness and/or serious emotional disorders and their families. The national organization website: www.nami.org also provides a Child and Adolescent Action Center, which includes the newsletter, Because Kids Grow Up. NAMI NH Information/Referral Service (800-242-6241) connects callers with trained individuals who answer questions; help access information about mental illness, serious emotional disorders, treatments and services; provide connection to local NAMI NH support groups; and provide referrals to appropriate organizations. NAMI NH also offers Parents Meeting Challenges, an 8-session program for parents and primary caregivers of children and adolescents with serious emotional disorders; Family to Family, a 12-session program for family and friends who have an adult in their life with a mental illness; and Side by Side, an 8-session program for families and caregivers of older adults diagnosed with a mental illness.

    • This organization provides references and support to parents of children with special needs. AMong its other services, Parent to Parent will connect you with other parents who are handling the same issues and disorders that you are.
